This project was a collaboration between myself and Yanina Pérez https://www.artstation.com/thegraysays , an incredibly talented Look Development and Grooming Artist, and former Gnomon student. The concept art was created by Stefan Kopinski https://www.artstation.com/artwork/RDkWA, whose work served as the foundation and inspiration for the project. We developed it during our final term at Gnomon under the guidance of Miguel Ortega.
Yanina was responsible for the exceptional groom and base skin textures on both rams, as well as all look development and rendering in Maya. I handled the remaining aspects of the project, including all sculpting , all other texturing (including refining and finalizing the base textures to match the final look), UVs (with Yanina later adjusting some layouts for a Mari-based workflow), and all lighting and rendering in Unreal Engine.
We worked closely throughout the process, developing a shared workflow that allowed the project to function seamlessly across both real-time and virtual production environments. It was an incredibly exciting and rewarding collaboration.

I really enjoyed trying to capture the energy and storytelling found in Frank Frazetta’s paintings.
The saddle was heavily influenced by Diablo and all of their amazing mount armor designs.
